A family meets up virtually to plan their yearly holiday celebration. They have all been separated by geography and circumstance, but this has never kept them from celebrating the most important holiday of the year together. Until this year' 'Home for the Holidays' is an online larp for 4-6 players about navigating family relations in difficult circumstances, about the ways a family changes when the children grow up, about conflicts and compromises, and about holidays. We follow a small family over the course of a few years. The children have moved out and live far away from their old home, and the parents divorced years ago, but even so they always spend this holiday together. This time, however, each one will in turn have their own reason to not come home. The larp will play out their virtual meetings wherein they break the news to their family, argue and make up, and try to find a different way to celebrate together. The actual holiday celebration will not be played out.
