Their Eyes Danced Like Stars

by Meredith Mayes and Penelope Ray

Their Eyes Danced Like Stars is a larp about grief, guilt, trauma, and group dynamics. Players will take on the role of one of the Tamsen Seven, survivors of last year’s nightmarish disaster. The characters will strive to avoid repeating the mistakes of the last expedition and confront the ghosts of the unthinkable decisions they made to survive last time.

Long Description

A year ago, a colonization mission to Kepler-452b went horribly, infamously, tragically, awry. Stranded in space for months, only a handful of the original 75 colonists survived to be rescued. One year after the very public rescue mission, the surviving Tamsen Seven are trying again. The Tamsen Seven are, predictably, considered enormously bad luck for any colony ship headed to Kepler-452b. Amid stares, murmurs, and the weight of what they did to survive, the repeat colonists set off in their own small chartered vessel on a multi-month journey to a new star.

Costumes are not required! Comfortable clothes for space travel are welcome.

There are no happy and untraumatized characters in this game. It is explicitly a game about dealing with this trauma, though how that is achieved is up to players and their decisions. Whether new traumas are created will also be up to the decisions players make as they try to navigate the same space journey that went so horribly wrong for their characters last time they attempted it.
