Free Skate

An intertwined group of American figure skaters deal with friends past and present, lovers present and ????, in a surreal after-party with a divine coach whom they will sometimes be channeling. Dancing and relationship repair, in the style of Yuri on Ice.

Long Description

Refrain from alcohol, other drugs, or sex since the last sunrise. Wash every part of your body that has touched another person in the last day. Turn off your phone. Lock your door. Turn off the lights. Speak aloud that you welcome my help.

Then wait.

Eight male figure skaters trying to impress a divine coach (that they will be periodically channeling) will grapple with their (platonic/romantic/sexual) relationships to one another, to a steady soundtrack of house/dance music around 120BPM.

Think Yuri on Ice, if its subtext was mostly just text, and it was boiled down to emotional parking lot conversations and dancing (and hookups) at the after-party. (Familiarity with Yuri on Ice not required; nothing is borrowed from the show except some themes. No skating outfits needed, just clothes you can dance in.)

The larp will use Ars Amandi (a method of touching of hands and arms) for representing physical intimacy, and will have a short (~25min) workshop to familiarize players before play (which should run ~2-3 hours).
