Long Description
Holding Out For a Hero The Doomsday Clock ticks ever closer to midnight and total annihilation. The world stands on the brink and all the world reaches out for a hero… sadly most of the really good heroes have been used up, and it’s up to a panel of divine beings to dig deep into the barrel in search of someone who might not be great but might be good enough to put off the apocalypse for one more day. Holding Out For A Hero is a comedy parlor Larp about A panel of “Gods" choosing “Heroes' to deal with disasters. It is an asymmetrical game in which (5-7) players fill the roles of the Council of Judges (The Gods), who determine which Heroes they should send on a given mission. The rest of the players (up to 6) play the cast of strange heroes that the Council is judging.
The Judges will play the same characters throughout the run, while the Cast will swap frequently. Judge characters will recieve a short character sheet along with a list of goals that they are trying to achieve over the course of the game, though one of these goals will be decided right before the start of game with a coin flip. I will send out a casting form for the Judge characters to let players choose their character prior to the convention.
Heroes recieve shorter character sheets, giving them some roleplay notes and goals. I will send out the hero list prior to game start so that the cast can choose their starting character and also be aware of other character who are in the pool, so they can alert me if there is something they are not comfortable portraying.
Judge and hero pools are an eclectic mix of characters from pop-culture, mythology/religion, and history.
