Long Description

This is a role-play intensive, 1920s alternate-history, noir, mob family LARP with recent paranormal acceptance due to the sudden manifestation of personal familiars for people around the world. Each character is a member of the Argente crime family, and has 2 players: one Human (outer persona) and one Familiar (innermost thoughts and opinions). There will be significant workshops at the beginning of the game, which include but are not limited to reviewing world information and practicing physical interactions between Humans and Familiars. Game will take place at a family meeting where the Familiars are summoned.

Narrative themes include: identity, relationships, the fluidity of identity and relationships, and familial obligations. Players may sign up as a pair, or individually and be assigned a partner. There is also space for one optional NPC who will lead the summoning ritual and act as a supernatural force to increase tension.

Costuming will be 1920s noir/dark mafia for the Humans, and the same (or basic black) with animal features for the Familiars. Each player will have access to all of the game content but will only be required to read their own character sheet. All characters are gender neutral; the world is written to have minimal gender stereotypes but strong expectations for age and birth order. We will be using several optional meta-techniques during the game such as black-box scenes, where the players step into a removed game space to play through memories together.
