The Glamourous Masks We Wear
You wished your life were less monotonous, now you've forgotten what it is you like and what makes you attractive to others.
The mortals arrived, and they clearly need the kind of jovial engagement that only a fae spirit, like you, can provide.
Perhaps together, the mortals can rediscover how they feel with others, and the fae can direct enough mortal energy to renew The Tree of Desire
Long Description
A game of desire, playfulness, attraction, hope, and secret social rules.
What if you forgot who you were, and needed help to find hope and rediscover the kind of person you are? What if you forgot even what those kinds of personalities there were, or what might be appealing? What if you didn’t even know the social rules to work your way through this dilemma?
You will play magical fae creatures: quirky, indirect, and often singularly focused. You will also play mortals: lost - both literally and figuratively - who all feel their lives are a bit too monotonous.
Whisked away to a fae realm at exactly 11:11pm, the mortals have found themselves forgetting what they desire in others, and how others might desire them. The fae were happy to engage in some play, and the energy in the bonds created will renew The Tree of Desire for another 11 years.
This game uses masks (masquerade-style or respiratory, both provided) and stickers to visualize character personality traits that players will discover through emergent roleplay together.
Starting characters will be cast with short page-or-less character blurbs to start, but an essential part of the game is to swap roles between different fae, different humans, or even between the two. As the game progresses, you will explore how different characters may have asymmetrical understanding of the social rules of this realm.
This game is a modified, expanded version of the Golden Cobra 2024 entry, with more character details and ambiance.
