Long Description

In the steampunk city of Terralyte, the Runners are the criminal elite of the city. Taking hub in the slum of Eelman's Pike, they find that one of their missions doesn't go as planned, in a way that could change the city forever, if it doesn't damn them first.

Mask of a Facade is a mid-sized parlor larp focusing on the questions of what is humanity, what does it mean to be human, and what is the cost of protecting those you care for. The game runs 3 hours, with players entering and exiting play in the main group as they go off on criminal missions. Mask of a Facade covers 3 hours in the lives of these characters, so is referred to as "slice of life" as play is happening in real time as it would for us... and theoretically continues long after play comes to an end. Back at the base, play is described as cozy, where you are just as likely to see characters baking a cake as discussing high-level moral ethics.

Costuming is optional but welcome. Workshops are mostly to cover communication tool, accessibility tools, and safety tools. There are about 5 pages of preparation in advance of this game, including world document and character casting.
