The Death of Solus: A Final Fantasy 14 Fan Larp

The Emperor of Garlemald, Solus zos Galvus, has just died without naming a successor. Players will portray various individuals with the honor of attending the Emperor's private funeral and make alliances, curry favor, and discover secrets in hopes of preventing a civil war... or perhaps claiming the throne yourself.

Long Description

It is a dark day in the Empire of Garlemald. Emperor Solus Zos Galvus, the first emperor and founder of the powerful and aggressive Garlean Empire has died, and failed to leave a successor. Solus was deeply loved by his people, and his life will be celebrated in a state funeral, full of pomp, grandeur, and expressions of the empire’s might and iron will.

That, though, is later. For now, is the private funeral. In a small, unassuming parlor tucked into a side street of the Imperial capitol, the royal family meets, along with high ranking generals, foreign dignitaries, and shadowy power-brokers and kingmakers. The funeral is a small, private affair, for those who knew Solus as a man rather than a symbol to pay their respects. It holds another purpose, too; with no clear successor to the empire, the most powerful people in the country are now gathered to decide who should rule, and bring the empire into the light of a new day.
