Ankaa Calendar Year 340 - A survey shuttle carrying eight students from the Ankaa Federation Officer’s Academy crashlands on the planetoid natural reserve of Eshmun. The exact details of this event remain obscure, but certain historians and political groups believe it may have held great significance.

The Wreck of the Eternal Summer is a Space Opera game set in a world of politically unstable interstellar human nations and space nobility, similar to media like the Mobile Suit Gundam series, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and the Vorkosigan Saga. Its story and characters are written with themes of history, the philosophy of personal identity, sexuality and social repression, nostalgia, and the messy interconnectivity of the personal and the political in mind. Players can expect to spend the game investigating their characters’ situation and lore about the game's world, and engaging in interpersonal roleplay about their discoveries, their characters' relationships, and what they intend to do going forward.
