Any Port in a Storm is a short-form parlor LARP exploring one fateful evening near the end of a nine-month luxury cruise. Strained marriages, doomed flings, and ill-suited arrangements begin to crumble under the pressures of proximity and isolation. The weeks have dragged by, the last port is still ages away, and the entertainment has ceased to distract this motley assortment of attendees from their struggling relationships any longer. Will tonight’s activities finally rip the last stitches keeping these fragile connections intact, or will vulnerability and honesty bring these people closer together? Will they leave this ship with the same person they boarded with? Will they even leave it at all?

Long Description

This game is a dark comedy set aboard a luxury cruise vessel over international waters. The year is 1985, the weather is balmy, the on-board entertainment is lacking, and the function hall is the last chance at having any fun tonight. Drama unfolds as the eccentric cast comes together and dances with romcom and soap-opera tropes. Death and spite fester under a glimmering veneer of love and commitment; moments of heartfelt connection and grace resonate against dissonant clashes of exposed secrets and cocktail-fueled invectives.
