Long Description

Princes of the Universe is a three-hour parlor game for sixteen people that explores the themes and characters popularized by the classic rock band Queen.

We've come to be the rulers of you all...

In Princes of the Universe you will take on the roles of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor from alternate universes. You have all become trapped in the Liminal Interlude and are trying to discover your way home. Because the bandmates are from different universes, characters you play will not be exact replicas of Queen: they may be different genders, they may have relationships with people of various genders, they may not even play the same instruments!

I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings,…

Familiarity with Queen’s catalogue is not required. Characters will perform a song as a band during game, and will be given time prior to and during game to learn a few songs.

I have no rival, no man can be my equal…

The main themes of Princes of the Universe include fate, reality, loss, and love. Backstories and plots will include content from Queen’s songs and include topics such as: murder, religion, death, drug use, suicide, and sex. The casting questionnaire will allow players to opt out of specific content for their own character.

Take me to the future of you all…

We will send out a questionnaire in December and players will be given three or four specific songs to listen to prior to the game based on their casting. Full 3-5 page character sheets will be sent out by the end of January.

Born to be kings, princes of the universe…

If you enjoy multiple genres and eras mashed together while exploring alternate universes of the best rock music ever created, this LARP is for you!
