Fame! Drama! Leg Warmers! Greed!

It's the 1980s, and you've just landed a major role in a new Broadway play. If the rumors are true, this is going to be bigger than Phantom — and you're going to be in the original cast. The eclectic director has invited you and the rest of the performers to a sleepy hotel in Rhode Island for the first table read.

Maybe he doesn't want any distractions. Maybe he doesn't want any witnesses...

Characters will be successful performers living in NYC. Andy Warhol probably photographed you. You've probably closed out the Mudd Club with Debbie Harry and David Bowie. And you're still kicking yourself for turning down Cats.

This is a LARP version of a-play-within-a-play; expect to do an actual table read of "The Lion in Winter". Significant portions of this game will involve acting in-character. Players will do more than just read lines, but this could be good time for all you drama-kids out there.

I like this game for several reasons. Here are a few:

• Natural Immersion: This event could actually happen at this hotel; it’s optimized for immersion. What you’ll see is what you’ll be seeing and what you’ll do is what you’ll actually be doing.
• Archtypical Setting: Because you're already familiar with many archetypes from Broadway and the 1980s, you'll have an easy time getting into character — and staying in character. Everyone else will too.
• Novel Design: I'll bet you a nickel that you've never played a game with this structural design.
